Draft Grade — Eagles

The steal of the weekend belongs to the Eagles and Hadden: B-.

Thirty-one other rooms let Kamal Hadden slide, and the Eagles were the ones holding the card at slot 210. Highway robbery.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. If Zinter pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Brian Thomas Jr.
In slot 22 they get a difference-maker at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick50 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
Good price on Edgerrin Cooper in the Round 2 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick53 Rnd2 Braden Fiske
By-the-book stuff, Braden Fiske at pick 53 squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick98 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
They paid up for Zak Zinter at the 98th overall pick when waiting would have done the job. The roster fit checks out.
Pick161 Rnd5 Sione Vaki
Sione Vaki in Round 5, Pick 25 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick171 Rnd5 Xavier Thomas
The board had Xavier Thomas higher than No. 171, and the edge rusher fell to them anyway. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick172 Rnd5 AJ Barner
No edge and no loss on AJ Barner in pick No. 172; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick210 Rnd6 Kamal Hadden
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Kamal Hadden in the 210th pick, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
