Start where it matters. The Bears took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.

They banked enough surplus on Baker to cover a lot of smaller sins. Jefferson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
