FutureB-
Larceny in Round 2, Pick 16 lands the Falcons a D, Starks and all. You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Falcons did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. It grades a D, and the process earned it.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. The cost of the Adams reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
On value alone, Starks makes the weekend a net positive.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Luther Burden III
In the 15th overall pick they get a weapon on the perimeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick46
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jihaad Campbell in slot 46. It fills a real need, too.
Pick48
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
A safety of that caliber at pick No. 48 is the definition of value, full stop. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick117
Rnd4
Ajani Cornelius
Good price on Ajani Cornelius in No. 117, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick244
Rnd7
Brandon Adams
A reach on Brandon Adams in the Round 7 slot; the board had better options right there. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
