Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Seahawks spent the 236th overall pick on Hayden Hatten, a name most had 65 spots down the list.

The whole projection now runs through Bo Nix; hit there and everything else looks smarter. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back.

Spending an early pick on DT-EDGE with linebacker and interior defensive lineman open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. The linebacker hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

The verdict is harsh because the weekend was, and there is little to argue.
