Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesC FutureA+
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Packers and Cowing: B.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Jacob Cowing tumbling to the Packers in Round 7, Pick 30 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

The cost of the Raym reach is exactly the players who went right after him. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback.

The Packers indulged a want in Arnold while a need in cornerback, tight end and other spots stayed open.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick35 Rnd2 Amarius Mims
A reach on Amarius Mims in the 35th pick; the board had better options right there. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick48 Rnd2 Calen Bullock
They took Calen Bullock at par in pick 48, which is nothing to complain about. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick57 Rnd2 Kingsley Suamataia
A tidy little value on Kingsley Suamataia in the Round 2 slot, a step better than break-even. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick71 Rnd3 Terrion Arnold
A curious use of the 71st overall pick. Cornerback, tight end and other spots needed the pick; a defensive back in Terrion Arnold did not.
Pick84 Rnd3 Andrew Mukuba
Of all the spots to shop, they chose safety. Andrew Mukuba in No. 84 leaves cornerback, tight end and other spots for later.
Pick103 Rnd4 Audric Estime
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Audric Estime. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick107 Rnd4 Devontez Walker
Devontez Walker at pick No. 107 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick135 Rnd4 Jordan Burch
They talked themselves into Jordan Burch at Round 4, Pick 35, and the board did not agree. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick140 Rnd5 Andrew Raym
A real head-scratcher, Andrew Raym in pick 140 is miles ahead of his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
Pick185 Rnd6 Jestin Jacobs
Jestin Jacobs at pick No. 185 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick217 Rnd6 Rasheen Ali
Rasheen Ali in Round 6, Pick 42 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick219 Rnd6 Sam Hartman
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Sam Hartman well ahead of where he belonged. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick228 Rnd7 Fentrell Cypress II
Fentrell Cypress II at No. 228 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster reasoning here is anyone's guess.
Pick250 Rnd7 Jacob Cowing
Taking Jacob Cowing in the 250th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
