The Chargers reached for Shelby and never recovered. Grade: F. Some picks age like wine; Braylan Shelby at Round 6, Pick 5 will need to, sitting 56 spots clear of his grade. The board sounded every alarm, and the F is the fallout.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Spending an early pick on safety with quarterback open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. However the rest shakes out, Okunlola at that price is a win they earned.
They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with quarterback still staring back at them.
