Draft Grade — Saints
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Larceny in the 112th overall pick lands the Saints a B, Taylor and all.

Thirty-one other rooms let Mason Taylor slide, and the Saints were the ones holding the card at pick 112. Highway robbery. The bottom line is a respectable B.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Will Campbell
In pick 9 they get a building block for the line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick40 Rnd2 Jaxson Dart
Jaxson Dart at slot 40 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick71 Rnd3 Carson Schwesinger
They took Carson Schwesinger at par in pick No. 71, which is nothing to complain about. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick93 Rnd3 Dylan Sampson
Dylan Sampson at No. 93 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It fills a real need, too.
Pick112 Rnd4 Mason Taylor
They will replay Mason Taylor at the Round 4 slot for years; that is how good the value is. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick131 Rnd4 Jacob Parrish
Jacob Parrish slid further than he should have, and Round 4, Pick 29 is lovely value for the cornerback. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick184 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Dont'e Thornton Jr.. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick248 Rnd7 Dante Trader Jr.
Fair-plus on Dante Trader Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick254 Rnd7 Zeek Biggers
Zeek Biggers in pick No. 254 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
