Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Ravens, and a B- to prove it.

The Ravens clearly saw something nobody else did in Khalid Duke, taking him 63 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

The Baker steal is the beam this whole class leans on. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Amarius Mims
In slot 30 they get protection for the quarterback. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick62 Rnd2 Bralen Trice
No edge and no loss on Bralen Trice in the 62nd pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick93 Rnd3 Khyree Jackson
A straight-up fair deal on Khyree Jackson at No. 93, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick113 Rnd4 Javon Baker
They will replay Javon Baker at the 113th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick130 Rnd4 Mason McCormick
Mason McCormick in the Round 4 slot is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick165 Rnd5 Tykee Smith
A tidy little value on Tykee Smith in pick No. 165, a step better than break-even. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick218 Rnd6 Jaylan Ford
Jaylan Ford at pick 218 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick228 Rnd7 Khalid Duke
Khalid Duke in Round 7, Pick 8 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick250 Rnd7 Blake Watson
They reached into another round for Blake Watson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The roster fit checks out.
