FutureB-
The Steelers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B. When the story of this class is written, it opens with Logan Lee at the Round 6 slot, a reach of 48 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. The bottom line is a respectable B.
On value alone, Lassiter makes the weekend a net positive. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
JC Latham
A clean, defensible pick in slot 20 with a little surplus value in JC Latham. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick51
Rnd2
Adonai Mitchell
You do not let a wide receiver like Adonai Mitchell reach No. 51 and blink. They did not. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick84
Rnd3
Kamari Lassiter
Kamari Lassiter in Round 3, Pick 20 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick98
Rnd3
Kamren Kinchens
They took Kamren Kinchens at par in the Round 3 slot, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick178
Rnd6
Jordan Magee
Jordan Magee is a better player than pick 178 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick195
Rnd6
Logan Lee
Logan Lee at pick No. 195 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick222
Rnd7
Sam Hartman
Sam Hartman at pick No. 222 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
