If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Bears, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A.

The Bears indulged a want in Williams while a need in running back, cornerback and other spots stayed open. Getting Fashanu where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.

A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.
