Williams is the plan now, and the Bears grade out a B.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Bears reached some 65 spots for Tanor Bortolini, and value like that does not grow back. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

They have staked the next five years on Caleb Williams, which is the only story that really matters here. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Murphy II at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
