FutureB-
The Vikings did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Vikings reached some 30 spots for Jack Kelly, and value like that does not grow back.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Sadiq. The Vikings paired the rookies with proven help, Chuba Hubbard leading the way.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Jermod McCoy
In the 18th overall pick they get a sticky cover corner at fair value.
Pick34
Rnd2
Kenyon Sadiq
A tidy bit of business in slot 34, where Kenyon Sadiq graded well above the range. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick161
Rnd5
Domani Jackson
Domani Jackson at No. 161 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick194
Rnd6
VJ Payne
VJ Payne in the 194th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick234
Rnd7
Jack Kelly
They talked themselves into Jack Kelly at pick No. 234, and the board did not agree. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick240
Rnd7
Daevin Hobbs
This one needs a full-page explanation: Daevin Hobbs in the Round 7 slot, miles early. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
