Draft Grade — Jets

FutureB
Best value of the weekend goes to the Jets for Greene III: D+. Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Jets, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. A D+ that will need time and luck to look better.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Greene III at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
The veteran additions, David Njoku chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not. The roster is better shaped than it was, with safety chief among the fixes.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
Pick Analysis
Pick19
Rnd1
Emeka Egbuka
In pick 19 they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value.
Pick51
Rnd2
Tate Ratledge
By-the-book stuff, Tate Ratledge at No. 51 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick65
Rnd3
Ajani Cornelius
Ajani Cornelius at pick No. 65 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick83
Rnd3
Earnest Greene III
Earnest Greene III at Round 3, Pick 19 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The roster fit checks out.
Pick93
Rnd3
Clay Webb
Clay Webb in the 93rd overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick122
Rnd4
Rylie Mills
They paid sticker price for Rylie Mills in the Round 4 slot, and that is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick124
Rnd4
Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori in pick 124 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick129
Rnd5
Collin Oliver
No edge and no loss on Collin Oliver in pick No. 129; it is a wash and a sensible one. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
