Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall F
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesF FutureD+
A franchise passer in Daniels headlines a F weekend for the Cowboys.

The Cowboys clearly saw something nobody else did in Jowon Briggs, taking him 37 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Jayden Daniels gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits.

They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They banked enough surplus on Harden to cover a lot of smaller sins.

It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

The verdict is harsh because the weekend was, and there is little to argue.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In pick 3 they get the arm they will build around at fair value.
Pick44 Rnd2 Keon Coleman
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Keon Coleman. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick59 Rnd2 T.J. Tampa
Quietly one of the better values of the day, T.J. Tampa at slot 59. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick127 Rnd4 Blake Fisher
Nice patience on Blake Fisher, who had no business lasting to Round 4, Pick 27. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick216 Rnd6 Nathaniel Watson
A reasonable price with a little left over, Nathaniel Watson in the Round 6 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick233 Rnd7 Jowon Briggs
Jowon Briggs at the 233rd overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick244 Rnd7 Myles Harden
A cornerback of that caliber at pick No. 244 is the definition of value, full stop. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick247 Rnd7 Edefuan Ulofoshio
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Edefuan Ulofoshio at the Round 7 slot is the proof. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
