Draft Grade — Saints
Overall

FutureB
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Saints a B. Nobody else had Que Robinson anywhere near pick No. 174. The Saints did, by 76 spots, and that gap is the whole story.
The Leonard pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Their trades came out a wash either way.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Will Johnson
In pick No. 12 they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick44
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
A tidy little value on Jihaad Campbell in No. 44, a step better than break-even. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick71
Rnd3
Tre Harris
They robbed the room for Tre Harris here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick76
Rnd3
Mason Taylor
Mason Taylor in the 76th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick93
Rnd3
Denzel Burke
Good price on Denzel Burke in the Round 3 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick112
Rnd4
Cam Skattebo
They let Cam Skattebo come to them and pounced at Round 4, Pick 10. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick149
Rnd5
Riley Leonard
Riley Leonard at Round 5, Pick 11 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick171
Rnd5
Connor Colby
No edge and no loss on Connor Colby in slot 171; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick174
Rnd5
Que Robinson
They talked themselves into Que Robinson at the Round 5 slot, and the board did not agree. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick184
Rnd6
JJ Pegues
A reasonable price with a little left over, JJ Pegues in No. 184. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick248
Rnd7
Kyren Lacy
A big swing on Kyren Lacy at pick 248, well ahead of any board in the building. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
