The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Vikings watched Ashton Jeanty slide 95 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The cost of the Fitzgerald reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

Bottom line, it will take a lot of luck to make this look better later.
