Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Ravens, and a B- to prove it. Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Ravens spent No. 249 on Brandon Cleveland, a name the board had a full 72 spots lower.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The dealing was even money, start to finish.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Jordyn Tyson
In slot 14 they get a weapon on the perimeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick45
Rnd2
Emmanuel Pregnon
Nothing to complain about; Emmanuel Pregnon went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick86
Rnd3
Devin Moore
A reasonable price with a little left over, Devin Moore in Round 3, Pick 22. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick115
Rnd4
Eli Raridon
A premium they did not need to pay, Eli Raridon a notch or two before his time. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick123
Rnd4
Mike Washington Jr.
They paid up for Mike Washington Jr. at pick No. 123 when waiting would have done the job. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick152
Rnd5
Ted Hurst
No edge and no loss on Ted Hurst in the 152nd pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick160
Rnd5
Kaleb Proctor
Kaleb Proctor in Round 5, Pick 22 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick172
Rnd5
Aamil Wagner
Aamil Wagner at pick 172 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick176
Rnd5
Harrison Wallace III
They paid a round early for Harrison Wallace III in pick No. 176, more than the board wanted. It fills a real need, too.
Pick202
Rnd6
Zxavian Harris
Zxavian Harris at the 202nd overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick249
Rnd7
Brandon Cleveland
Brandon Cleveland at No. 249 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick252
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III at slot 252 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
