The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Bengals reached some 58 spots for Emery Jones Jr., and value like that does not grow back.

That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain.

A perfectly average weekend, for better and for worse.
