Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Packers: B-.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Packers reached some 46 spots for Max Brosmer, and value like that does not grow back. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

They banked enough surplus on Allen to cover a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Malaki Starks
In No. 23 they get a centerfielder for the defense. More want than need.
Pick54 Rnd2 Isaiah Bond
They took Isaiah Bond at par in pick 54, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick87 Rnd3 Ozzy Trapilo
Ozzy Trapilo at the Round 3 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick123 Rnd4 Smael Mondon Jr.
Smael Mondon Jr. at slot 123 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick160 Rnd5 LeQuint Allen
LeQuint Allen in pick No. 160 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick200 Rnd6 Addison West
A tidy little value on Addison West in Round 6, Pick 22, a step better than break-even. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick239 Rnd7 Kitan Crawford
Kitan Crawford is a better player than pick 239 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick251 Rnd7 Max Brosmer
Max Brosmer in Round 7, Pick 33 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
