Draft Grade — Bears

FutureA+
The Bears robbed the room for Coleman. Final grade: A-. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Keon Coleman, the No. 39 name on the board, stolen at pick No. 76. Little to argue with here, and the A- says so.
The cost of the Van Pran reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.
The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Chop Robinson and all.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Chop Robinson
In Round 1, Pick 10 they get juice off the edge at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick11
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
In No. 11 they get a home-run threat at receiver. A real need, handled.
Pick21
Rnd1
JC Latham
In the 21st overall pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick38
Rnd2
Sedrick Van Pran
They left a pile of value on the table to take Sedrick Van Pran this early at pick No. 38. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick42
Rnd2
Emeka Egbuka
Emeka Egbuka slid further than he should have, and slot 42 is lovely value for the wide receiver. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick53
Rnd2
Mekhi Wingo
Mekhi Wingo at the 53rd pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick76
Rnd3
Keon Coleman
They barely believed it either: Keon Coleman still on the board at pick 76. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick85
Rnd3
Nazir Stackhouse
They paid a round early for Nazir Stackhouse in the Round 3 slot, more than the board wanted. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
