Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

FutureB-
A franchise passer in Williams headlines a D- weekend for the Bears. Somebody took the Bears to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.
Caleb Williams gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
Every board in the league had Rice lower, and that gap is the story.
A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In the 1st overall pick they get the face of the franchise. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick27
Rnd1
Jackson Powers-Johnson
In pick No. 27 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick35
Rnd2
Adonai Mitchell
A reasonable price with a little left over, Adonai Mitchell in the Round 2 slot. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick75
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
A clean, defensible pick in slot 75 with a little surplus value in Cooper Beebe. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick84
Rnd3
Brenden Rice
Brenden Rice in No. 84 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick122
Rnd4
James Williams
By-the-book stuff, James Williams at pick 122 squarely in line with his ranking. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
