Rice should have been long gone. The Packers pounced, and earned a B-.

Call it larceny. Brenden Rice sat on the board until pick 168, and the Packers did not need to be asked twice. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The cost of the Jackson reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
