There is conviction, and then there is this. The Steelers took Da'Shawn Womack a full 44 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.
