Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall
B
ValueB-

FutureA
Daniels is the plan now, and the Commanders grade out a B. The search is over. The Commanders handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
Spann-Ford has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They banked enough surplus on Sainristil to cover a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In the 5th pick they get the arm they will build around. A real need, handled.
Pick36
Rnd2
Jordan Morgan
Jordan Morgan at the 36th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick37
Rnd2
Darius Robinson
No edge and no loss on Darius Robinson in pick 37; it is a wash and a sensible one. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick40
Rnd2
Xavier Worthy
Xavier Worthy at pick No. 40 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick67
Rnd3
Mike Sainristil
Mike Sainristil in slot 67 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick69
Rnd3
Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia in the Round 3 slot is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick78
Rnd3
Roger Rosengarten
Roger Rosengarten at Round 3, Pick 14 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick100
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
Nothing to complain about; Khyree Jackson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick139
Rnd5
Kitan Oladapo
Kitan Oladapo in the 139th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick140
Rnd5
Christian Jones
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Christian Jones. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick152
Rnd5
Mason McCormick
By-the-book stuff, Mason McCormick at the 152nd pick squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick222
Rnd7
Brevyn Spann-Ford
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Brevyn Spann-Ford well ahead of where he belonged. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
