Nobody else had Marvin Jones Jr. anywhere near pick No. 247. The Titans did, by 88 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. On value alone, Wheatley makes the weekend a net positive.

The Titans paired the rookies with proven help, Kyler Gordon leading the way. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
