The trade table was where it all came apart. The Commanders shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.

They have staked the next five years on Jayden Daniels, which is the only story that really matters here. The Eichenberg pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at tight end and interior defensive lineman.

The cost of the Eichenberg reach is exactly the players who went right after him. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want.

Jones at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and tight end is still a hole.
