The search is over. The Bears handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

The cost of the Williams reach is exactly the players who went right after him. That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The roster is better shaped than it was, with running back chief among the fixes.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
