Warren1 DRAFTING FOR THEBrowns
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
B-
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Browns: B-. Every other box got a look, but wide receiver did not. The Browns will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with.
Getting Rodriguez where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Aguero has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick107
Rnd4
Nicholas Rodriguez
The board had Nicholas Rodriguez higher than pick 107, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick139
Rnd5
Trinidad Chambliss
No edge and no loss on Trinidad Chambliss in Round 5, Pick 1; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick144
Rnd5
Kenyatta Jackson Jr.
A quiet steal in No. 144: Kenyatta Jackson Jr. for less than the market said. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick147
Rnd5
Jyaire Hill
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jyaire Hill in the 147th pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick204
Rnd6
Joenel Aguero
They liked Joenel Aguero enough to skip the value, taking him in the 204th overall pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
