Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Commanders were there to profit. Ajani Cornelius, the No. 114 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 5, Pick 9.

For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
