Phillips should have been long gone. The Steelers pounced, and earned a B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Steelers were there to profit. Jordan Phillips, the No. 112 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 177th overall pick. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Reaching for Parr left real value on the table behind him. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 8 of 9 of the wish list covered.

They chose more darts over a bigger single swing.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
