A respectable, level-headed haul for the Cowboys: B+. Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Cowboys spent Round 5, Pick 11 on JJ Pegues, a name the board had a full 36 spots lower.
They banked enough surplus on Belton to cover a lot of smaller sins. Adding Ivan Pace Jr. by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
The trade work was a quiet net positive. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
