Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall F
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureD-
The Seahawks robbed the room for Trotter Jr.. Final grade: F.

Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Seahawks, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. About as rough as the board gets, and a F to prove it.

They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers. Trotter Jr. falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with wide receiver still staring back at them.

Pick Analysis
Pick16 Rnd1 Olumuyiwa Fashanu
In Round 1, Pick 16 they get a plug-and-play piece up front, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick36 Rnd2 J.J. McCarthy
J.J. McCarthy at the Round 2 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the quarterback. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick39 Rnd2 Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson in pick No. 39 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick40 Rnd2 Ja'Tavion Sanders
Ja'Tavion Sanders in slot 40 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick50 Rnd2 T.J. Tampa
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on T.J. Tampa. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick78 Rnd3 Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
They will replay Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at the 78th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick119 Rnd4 Mekhi Wingo
Mekhi Wingo slipping to Round 4, Pick 19 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick151 Rnd5 Tykee Smith
They did well to land Tykee Smith in the 151st pick, just ahead of his grade. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick194 Rnd6 Caedan Wallace
They read the board right and Caedan Wallace was the payoff at the Round 6 slot. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
