VICCITYHAWKER DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks

Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB
FutureB-
The Seahawks kept it disciplined and banked a B. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Seahawks did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to wide receiver, which was the need that mattered most.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Jordan. The Gray pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick36
Rnd2
Jackson Powers-Johnson
Jackson Powers-Johnson in pick No. 36 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick57
Rnd2
Kris Jenkins
Kris Jenkins slid further than he should have, and slot 57 is lovely value for the edge rusher. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick67
Rnd3
Javon Bullard
Javon Bullard at the 67th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick78
Rnd3
Junior Colson
Good price on Junior Colson in No. 78, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick82
Rnd3
Zak Zinter
They paid up for Zak Zinter at pick 82 when waiting would have done the job. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick119
Rnd4
Cedric Gray
Cedric Gray at the Round 4 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick151
Rnd5
Renardo Green
No edge and no loss on Renardo Green in Round 5, Pick 15; it is a wash and a sensible one. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick194
Rnd6
AJ Barner
They went early on AJ Barner in the 194th overall pick, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick233
Rnd7
Jawhar Jordan
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jawhar Jordan at No. 233. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
