CJinVic DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks

Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B
ValueB-

TradesB
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Seahawks a B. Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Seahawks spent slot 235 on Jack Westover, a name the board had a full 85 spots lower. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
The McGlothern pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Graham Barton
In slot 25 they get a cornerstone up front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick62
Rnd2
Kris Jenkins
A tidy bit of business in the 62nd pick, where Kris Jenkins graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick64
Rnd2
Payton Wilson
Fair-plus on Payton Wilson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick102
Rnd4
Cole Bishop
Cole Bishop in the Round 4 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick118
Rnd4
Matt Goncalves
A reasonable price with a little left over, Matt Goncalves in pick 118. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick165
Rnd5
Dillon Johnson
No edge and no loss on Dillon Johnson in No. 165; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick179
Rnd6
Jared Wiley
Jared Wiley in pick 179 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick192
Rnd6
Dwight McGlothern
Dwight McGlothern at the 192nd overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick228
Rnd7
Edefuan Ulofoshio
The board had cheaper options than Edefuan Ulofoshio at the Round 7 slot, and it noticed. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick235
Rnd7
Jack Westover
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jack Westover. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick255
Rnd7
LaDarius Henderson
LaDarius Henderson in No. 255 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
