FutureB-
The Seahawks won the night they stopped Judkins from sliding. Grade: B+. The board owed the Seahawks one, and it paid up: Quinshon Judkins, the No. 83 name on the board, sitting there at Round 6, Pick 19 like a gift left on the doorstep. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.
Toia has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
The Matthew Bergeron deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
Abdul Carter
In Round 1, Pick 21 they get a problem off the edge at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick47
Rnd2
Tate Ratledge
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Tate Ratledge at slot 47. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick55
Rnd2
Smael Mondon Jr.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Smael Mondon Jr. in pick 55. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick78
Rnd3
Tyler Booker
Circle this one: Tyler Booker at pick No. 78 is a fall that decides a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick173
Rnd5
Conner Weigman
They left a pile of value on the table to take Conner Weigman this early at No. 173. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick194
Rnd6
Quinshon Judkins
Steal is underselling it; Quinshon Judkins at the 194th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick210
Rnd6
Rod Moore
Nice patience on Rod Moore, who had no business lasting to the 210th overall pick. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick230
Rnd7
Jay Toia
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jay Toia well ahead of where he belonged. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
