Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
The Seahawks robbed the room for James. Final grade: B.

Call it larceny. DJ James sat on the board until the 118th overall pick, and the Seahawks did not need to be asked twice. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick16 Rnd1 Jared Verse
In slot 16 they get juice off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick81 Rnd3 Calen Bullock
They paid sticker price for Calen Bullock in Round 3, Pick 17, and that is fine. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick102 Rnd4 Zak Zinter
A straight-up fair deal on Zak Zinter at pick 102, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick118 Rnd4 DJ James
A cornerback of that caliber at the 118th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick179 Rnd6 James Williams
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, James Williams in No. 179, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick192 Rnd6 Anthony Gould
You do not let a wide receiver like Anthony Gould reach the 192nd pick and blink. They did not. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick235 Rnd7 Fabien Lovett
Steal is underselling it; Fabien Lovett at the Round 7 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The roster fit checks out.
