Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesB+ FutureA
The Seahawks kept it disciplined and banked a B+.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Seahawks did exactly that with Trey Zuhn III in the 150th overall pick.

That is a quarterback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Lukas Van Ness gives the group a proven body among the projects.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick21 Rnd1 Denzel Boston
No edge and no loss on Denzel Boston in the 21st overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick43 Rnd2 Michael Taaffe
Michael Taaffe at No. 43 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick75 Rnd3 Jalon Kilgore
By-the-book stuff, Jalon Kilgore at Round 3, Pick 11 squarely in line with his ranking. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick111 Rnd4 Charles Jagusah
Charles Jagusah at pick No. 111 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick121 Rnd4 Raylen Wilson
Raylen Wilson at pick 121 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick150 Rnd5 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III in the Round 5 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick180 Rnd6 Daevin Hobbs
They liked Daevin Hobbs enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 6, Pick 4. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick189 Rnd6 Jalon Daniels
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jalon Daniels at pick No. 189. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick234 Rnd7 Johntay Cook II
A conviction pick on Johntay Cook II at pick 234 that the board grades a round light. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
