Good, not great, for the Chargers: B.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Chargers reached some 80 spots for Elijah Simmons, and value like that does not grow back. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

That Boyd pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
