The Chargers left with their quarterback, and a F to match. Nobody else had LaDarius Henderson anywhere near No. 162. The Chargers did, by 90 spots, and that gap is the whole story.
The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. J.J. McCarthy is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off.
However the rest shakes out, Worthy at that price is a win they earned. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
Bottom line, it will take a lot of luck to make this look better later.
