Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall D
ValueC NeedB TradesF FutureB+
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Ravens to a D.

The Ravens did not so much draft Gino Garcia as overpay for him, 62 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. A D that will need time and luck to look better.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.

Pick Analysis
Pick57 Rnd2 Donovan Jackson
They liked Donovan Jackson enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 57. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick59 Rnd2 Azareye'h Thomas
Azareye'h Thomas in No. 59 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick74 Rnd3 Deone Walker
The board had cheaper options than Deone Walker at the Round 3 slot, and it noticed. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick91 Rnd3 Kevin Winston Jr.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kevin Winston Jr.. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick111 Rnd4 Emery Jones Jr.
Emery Jones Jr. in the 111th overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick114 Rnd4 Tai Felton
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Tai Felton at pick 114. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick129 Rnd4 Tyler Baron
Tyler Baron in slot 129 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick140 Rnd5 Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins
They reached a country mile for Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins at the 140th overall pick, and the board is aghast. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick146 Rnd5 Oronde Gadsden II
They left a pile of value on the table to take Oronde Gadsden II this early at No. 146. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick176 Rnd5 Jack Kiser
No edge and no loss on Jack Kiser in the 176th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick243 Rnd7 Gino Garcia
A big swing on Gino Garcia at pick No. 243, well ahead of any board in the building. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
