Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Commanders robbed the room for Lachey. Final grade: D.

The Commanders lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.

That offensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They banked enough surplus on Lachey to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Every board in the league had Porter lower, and that gap is the story.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, offensive lineman very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Mike Green
In pick 29 they get juice off the edge at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick56 Rnd2 Xavier Watts
Xavier Watts in Round 2, Pick 24 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick61 Rnd2 Maxwell Hairston
Maxwell Hairston in the 61st pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick67 Rnd3 Darien Porter
A conviction pick on Darien Porter at pick No. 67 that the board grades a round light. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick109 Rnd4 Savion Williams
Savion Williams in slot 109 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick128 Rnd4 Jaylin Lane
Jaylin Lane in the 128th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick205 Rnd6 Nazir Stackhouse
They jumped the gun on Nazir Stackhouse, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The roster fit checks out.
Pick245 Rnd7 Luke Lachey
Steal is underselling it; Luke Lachey at the Round 7 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
