JT49th DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks

Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall

FutureB+
Larceny in slot 76 lands the Seahawks a A-, Johnson and all. Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Seahawks came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. A near-flawless weekend of work, and a A- to cap it.
Johnson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Kandra has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Tyler Warren and all.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Tyler Warren
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a matchup weapon at tight end, outstanding value to boot.
Pick50
Rnd2
Landon Jackson
Landon Jackson at the 50th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick76
Rnd3
Kaleb Johnson
Kaleb Johnson at pick No. 76 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick82
Rnd3
Ozzy Trapilo
No edge and no loss on Ozzy Trapilo in No. 82; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick92
Rnd3
Will Howard
Will Howard at pick 92 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick95
Rnd3
Danny Stutsman
Nice patience on Danny Stutsman, who had no business lasting to the 95th pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick118
Rnd4
Jared Wilson
Jared Wilson at Round 4, Pick 16 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick128
Rnd4
Cam Skattebo
A tidy bit of business in slot 128, where Cam Skattebo graded well above the range. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick137
Rnd4
Luke Kandra
Luke Kandra at the 137th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick172
Rnd5
Seth McLaughlin
Seth McLaughlin at pick 172 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick175
Rnd5
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
A reach for Dont'e Thornton Jr. in the 175th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick223
Rnd7
Carson Vinson
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Carson Vinson. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick226
Rnd7
Isaac TeSlaa
No drama and no debate, Isaac TeSlaa went about where he belonged in pick No. 226. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
