Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

ValueB-

FutureB+
The Bears let Majors fall and pounced. Final grade: B+. The board owed the Bears one, and it paid up: Jake Majors, the No. 92 name on the board, sitting there at slot 147 like a gift left on the doorstep. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.
Cypress II has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend.
A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Jack Sawyer
They jumped the gun on Jack Sawyer, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick41
Rnd2
Tate Ratledge
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Tate Ratledge at pick 41. It fills a real need, too.
Pick55
Rnd2
Tyleik Williams
Tyleik Williams at the 55th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick72
Rnd3
Xavier Watts
They will replay Xavier Watts at Round 3, Pick 8 for years; that is how good the value is. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick147
Rnd5
Jake Majors
The board fumbled Jake Majors all the way to the 147th overall pick, and they scooped it up. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick148
Rnd5
Oronde Gadsden II
Oronde Gadsden II at pick No. 148 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick193
Rnd6
Ty Hamilton
Ty Hamilton at No. 193 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick233
Rnd7
Jonah Monheim
Jonah Monheim in slot 233 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick240
Rnd7
Shilo Sanders
They took Shilo Sanders at par in the Round 7 slot, which is nothing to complain about. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick248
Rnd7
Fentrell Cypress II
They left a pile of value on the table to take Fentrell Cypress II this early at Round 7, Pick 32. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
