Bassa should have been long gone. The Bengals pounced, and earned a B+.

You build a draft on nights like this. Jeffrey Bassa had no business being available in slot 167, and the Bengals did the only sane thing and turned in the card. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

With cornerback, tight end and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them. Ratledge has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
