Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Patriots a B-.

The Patriots' one glaring miss is interior defensive lineman, a need they left exactly as they found it. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

Rhodes Jr. has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Quincy Rhodes Jr.
In Round 1, Pick 30 they get a problem off the edge, though they paid up to get him. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick62 Rnd2 Sheridan Wilson
Sheridan Wilson at the 62nd overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick94 Rnd3 Anthonie Knapp
Good price on Anthonie Knapp in pick 94, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick125 Rnd4 Kade Pieper
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kade Pieper. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick130 Rnd4 Anto Saka
No edge and no loss on Anto Saka in slot 130; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick168 Rnd5 Dorian Thomas
Dorian Thomas in pick No. 168 is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick189 Rnd6 Jahiem White
Jahiem White in the Round 6 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
Pick200 Rnd6 Gunner Stockton
They paid sticker price for Gunner Stockton in No. 200, and that is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick207 Rnd6 Brandon Inniss
Nothing to complain about; Brandon Inniss went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick209 Rnd6 Smith Snowden
Smith Snowden in No. 209 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick246 Rnd7 Kamari Wilson
They took Kamari Wilson at par in slot 246, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
