Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Jaguars a B-.

Everything else got attention, and offensive lineman got none. That is a strange way for the Jaguars to leave a draft. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

Every board in the league had McCray lower, and that gap is the story. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick56 Rnd2 LaNorris Sellers
They paid up for LaNorris Sellers at pick 56 when waiting would have done the job. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick81 Rnd3 Rasheem Biles
They took Rasheem Biles at par in the 81st overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick88 Rnd3 LJ McCray
A premium they did not need to pay, LJ McCray a notch or two before his time. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick100 Rnd3 Zavier Mincey
Zavier Mincey in No. 100 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick124 Rnd4 Xavier Scott
No drama and no debate, Xavier Scott went about where he belonged in the 124th pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick162 Rnd5 Walker Lyons
Walker Lyons at pick No. 162 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick164 Rnd5 David Oke
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on David Oke. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick233 Rnd7 Semaj Morgan
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 7 slot with a little surplus value in Semaj Morgan. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick245 Rnd7 Dylan Edwards
Good price on Dylan Edwards in the 245th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A need, and now a little less of one.
