Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesC FutureB
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Jaguars.

The one they had to fix is still broken. The Jaguars left linebacker untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul.

They will need Van Pran to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the linebacker spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 Taliese Fuaga
In pick 17 they get a blindside protector. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick71 Rnd3 Johnny Wilson
They took Johnny Wilson at par in the Round 3 slot, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick79 Rnd3 Sedrick Van Pran
A conviction pick on Sedrick Van Pran at No. 79 that the board grades a round light. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick96 Rnd3 Tykee Smith
Tykee Smith in Round 3, Pick 33 is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick114 Rnd4 MarShawn Lloyd
A clean, defensible pick in slot 114 with a little surplus value in MarShawn Lloyd. It fills a real need, too.
Pick116 Rnd4 Kris Abrams-Draine
By-the-book stuff, Kris Abrams-Draine at pick No. 116 squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick155 Rnd5 Justin Rogers
The board had cheaper options than Justin Rogers at the 155th overall pick, and it noticed. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick195 Rnd6 T.J. Sanders
T.J. Sanders at the 195th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick211 Rnd6 Zion Nelson
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Zion Nelson. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick237 Rnd7 Erick All
A premium they did not need to pay, Erick All a notch or two before his time. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
