Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall B+
ValueA+ NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
Milum should have been long gone. The Bengals pounced, and earned a B+.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Bengals were there to profit. Wyatt Milum, the No. 35 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 6, Pick 17. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.

For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The back end got a real overhaul.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 Travis Hunter
In slot 17 they get a press-man option on the boundary at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick49 Rnd2 Ashton Jeanty
A running back of that caliber at pick No. 49 is the definition of value, full stop. It fills a real need, too.
Pick81 Rnd3 Jahdae Barron
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Jahdae Barron in Round 3, Pick 17, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick118 Rnd4 Cam Ward
Cam Ward at No. 118 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick154 Rnd5 Walter Nolen
The board fumbled Walter Nolen all the way to pick 154, and they scooped it up. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick195 Rnd6 Wyatt Milum
Circle this one: Wyatt Milum at the Round 6 slot is a fall that decides a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
