Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Browns.

When the story of this class is written, it opens with Ja'Kobi Lane at the 39th pick, a reach of 30 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Allar steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Kadyn Proctor
In slot 6 they get an anchor for the offensive line, reach and all. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick24 Rnd1 Olaivavega Ioane
In pick No. 24 they get a plug-and-play piece up front, though they paid up to get him.
Pick39 Rnd2 Ja'Kobi Lane
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Ja'Kobi Lane. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick70 Rnd3 Malachi Fields
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Malachi Fields. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick107 Rnd4 Parker Brailsford
A reach for Parker Brailsford in the 107th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
Pick139 Rnd5 Tanner Koziol
By-the-book stuff, Tanner Koziol at the Round 5 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick144 Rnd5 Drew Allar
Drew Allar is a better player than the 144th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick147 Rnd5 Treydan Stukes
No edge and no loss on Treydan Stukes in the Round 5 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick204 Rnd6 Brett Norfleet
A reach on Brett Norfleet in pick 204; the board had better options right there. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick248 Rnd7 Damari Brown
Damari Brown in the 248th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
