Draft Grade — Jets
Overall

ValueB-
NeedB

FutureB
The Jets robbed the room for Alexander. Final grade: B+. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Zy Alexander got past him. The Jets do not have to explain a thing at pick 255. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The Reed pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through safety.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
Taliese Fuaga
In pick 17 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A real need, handled.
Pick49
Rnd2
Quinn Ewers
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Quinn Ewers in the Round 2 slot. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick111
Rnd4
Kiran Amegadjie
They did well to land Kiran Amegadjie in pick No. 111, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick148
Rnd5
Jamon Dumas-Johnson
Jamon Dumas-Johnson at the 148th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick173
Rnd5
Jacob Cowing
They paid a round early for Jacob Cowing in Round 5, Pick 37, more than the board wanted. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick189
Rnd6
Korey Foreman
They went early on Korey Foreman in the 189th pick, and the value did not follow. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick232
Rnd7
Jason Henderson
A straight-up fair deal on Jason Henderson at slot 232, value and slot in agreement. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick255
Rnd7
Zy Alexander
Steal is underselling it; Zy Alexander at No. 255 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick256
Rnd7
Austin Reed
A big swing on Austin Reed at the 256th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
